About The Clinic at 8737

Our Mission

At The Clinic at 8737, our mission is to provide compassionate, judgment-free, evidence-based care to individuals and families affected by opioid and kratom dependence. We believe recovery is possible, and every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and individualized care.

Recovery starts here.

The Clinic at 8737, a division of Crooked Letter Health PLLC, was established in Escatawpa in 2020 and is owned and directed by Billy Dycus, NP.

We operate as a completely separate and independent Medication for Opioid Use Disorder program from Dr. Hoover’s practice. Although Billy also serves as an independent contractor within Dr. Hoover’s MOUD program, the two clinics are distinct entities. Dr. Hoover’s program was originally headquartered in Gautier, Mississippi, and relocated to our clinic space in 2024. While both programs share the same building, they operate independently with separate management and clinical oversight.

Meet Billy Dycus, NP

Billy has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2018 and a Registered Nurse since 2007. He holds a degree in Counseling Psychology and worked in a methadone clinic as a substance abuse therapist prior to beginning his nursing career.

He has worked alongside Dr. Rick Hoover for the past eight years under his tutelage and has extensive experience in substance abuse treatment and counseling. His background uniquely blends medical management with addiction counseling principles.

The Clinic at 8737 is intentionally a laid-back, family-oriented, no judgment zone. Patients are treated with respect, honesty, and dignity, not stigma.

Why Choose Us

We are a hybrid MOUD program offering both in-office and telehealth visits for convenience and continuity of care.

  • Patients are generally seen in-office every 84 days

  • Stable patients are seen via telehealth between in-office visits

  • Same-week appointments available

  • Same-day or next-day visits often possible

Our program is structured and supportive while allowing patients to maintain work, family, and daily responsibilities.

We are strictly self-pay, which allows us to provide straightforward and consistent care without insurance delays or restrictions. However, we work with patients’ insurance providers to help ensure prescribed medications are covered when applicable.

All visit costs are all inclusive, including required drug screening.

Our Services

We are primarily a MOUD-focused clinic providing evidence-based treatment for opioid and kratom dependence.

In the coming months, we plan to expand services to include:

  • Men’s health care, including hormone management with testosterone cypionate

  • Treatment for erectile dysfunction with cialis and viagra

  • DOT physicals

Referring Providers

We welcome referrals from physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, counselors, treatment programs, and community partners.

Our program provides structured medication management, regular follow-up and monitoring, and hybrid in-office and telehealth flexibility. We aim to be accessible, responsive, and collaborative in patient care.

If you have a patient who is dissatisfied with their current MOUD program, or someone seeking help for opioid or kratom dependency, we would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to partner in their care.

Our Story

The Clinic at 8737 was built from years of frontline experience in addiction treatment and a deep belief that recovery should feel personal, respectful, and hopeful. After working as a Registered Nurse since 2007 and later becoming a Nurse Practitioner in 2018, Billy Dycus brought together his background in Counseling Psychology, substance abuse therapy in a methadone clinic, and eight years working alongside Dr. Rick Hoover to create a program that feels different. This clinic was founded to offer structured, evidence-based buprenorphine treatment in a laid-back, no-judgment environment where patients are treated like people, not numbers. We believe recovery works best when patients feel heard, supported, and part of something that feels more like family than a clinic. Recovery starts here.
